Questions people actually ask
Can I get life insurance in Kansas without a Social Security number?
Yes. Carriers available through Ethos accept applicants with an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN), an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) or a valid U.S. visa. ITIN applicants generally need to have lived in the United States for at least 18 months, be under regular U.S.-based medical care, have seen a physician in the last 18 months, have no plans to travel abroad within two years, and be between 20 and 85 years old.
How long does the application actually take?
Getting a quote takes about two minutes. The full application takes roughly ten minutes and can be completed on a phone. Most applicants receive an underwriting decision the same day.
Do I need a medical exam?
Most applicants do not. The majority of applications submitted through Ethos are underwritten without a paramedical exam, needles or lab work. Some applicants — usually because of age, coverage amount or health history — are asked for additional information.
What does it cost to work with Velar Life Agency?
Nothing. There is no fee, no consultation charge and no markup on your premium. As a licensed producer I am paid a commission by the insurance carrier only if a policy is issued. Your price is the same whether you apply with my help or entirely on your own.
Can I apply in Spanish?
Yes. Every conversation with Armani can happen entirely in Spanish, by phone or text at (913) 444-9667. The Ethos application itself is written in English, so Armani walks Spanish-speaking clients through it line by line at no cost. You can also use your phone's built-in translation: on iPhone, open the link in Safari, tap the AA icon and choose Translate to Spanish; on Android, open it in Chrome and tap Translate when prompted.
Who actually insures me — Velar or Ethos?
Neither. Velar Life Agency is an independent agency and Ethos is the technology platform the application runs through. Your policy is issued and paid out by an established life insurance carrier. Armani is the licensed producer who places the policy and handles your file.
How much coverage can I get?
Term life coverage is available from $15,000 up to $2,000,000, in terms of 10, 15, 20 or 30 years. Whole life offers permanent coverage with a guaranteed death benefit. Guaranteed acceptance policies, which ask no health questions, are available for ages 45 to 85. What you qualify for depends on your age, health and identification type.
How much life insurance does my family need?
A common starting point is ten times your annual income, plus any mortgage balance and expected education costs, minus savings already set aside. That is a rule of thumb rather than an answer. Armani will work through your actual numbers with you before you apply.
What if I have a health condition?
Many conditions are still insurable, often at standard rates. If you have been declined before, guaranteed acceptance coverage asks no health questions at all for ages 45 to 85. Tell Armani what is going on before you apply so your application is submitted where it has the best chance.
Is Armani Hernández actually licensed?
Yes. Armani Hernández is a life insurance producer licensed in the state of Kansas, National Producer Number 19983707. That number can be verified on the NIPR national producer registry.
